We, Maalav Milk Producer Organisation is a 100% women-led organisation which draws its inspiration from the National Dairy Development Board- Dairy Services (NDDB-DS), which has successfully promoted women-led milk producer organisations across India. Recognizing the needs of rural Madhya Pradesh—where small and marginal farmers rely heavily on dairying—the idea of Maalav MPO emerged. The MPO was incorporated on 18 August 2017 under Part IX-A of the Companies Act, 1956, with a clear purpose: to provide rural women a fair, transparent, and reliable system to market their milk collectively. Alongside strengthening the milk value chain, we invest in member capacity building through regular training on clean milk production, animal health, fodder management, and digital literacy. Doorstep services such as veterinary care and artificial insemination.

The MPO functions through ten key departments—Finance & Accounts, Field Engineering Services, Human Resources, Information Technology, Company Secretary & Legal, Productivity Enhancement Services, Procurement, Purchase & Logistics, Quality Assurance and Producer Institution Building—guided collectively by the Chief Executive’s Office to ensure smooth operations and alignment with long-term goals.

From its beginnings in a few villages, Maalav MPO has expanded across six districts of Madhya Pradesh—Rajgarh, Shivpuri, Guna, Datia, Sheopur and Morena. Today, it represents a vibrant network of over 24,000 active women members, many of whom are smallholders owning just two or three milch animals. Quality based milk is collected from over 850 villages, and with a procurement of nearly 1,00,000 litres per day, the Organisation has become a reliable in region’s dairy economy.

Every woman member supplying milk receives her payment directly in her bank account three times a month—on the 3rd, 13th, and 23rd—ensuring a regular, transparent income cycle that supports socio-economic upliftment and financial independence.
